Electrician:

An exciting opportunity for an experienced, Motivated and qualified Maintenance Electrician currently exists to join our Maintenance team at our Brooklyn Plant. Located just 15 minutes west of the Melbourne CBD, our Brooklyn Plant is a 5 day, multi-species operation with the capacity to process up to 1,400 head of cattle and 8,200 head of small stock per day.

Our Maintenance team comprises of several Fitters, Electricians and Plumbers. We are now adding fabrication, for production of all types of work from a simple repair of existing guarding to hard facing and overhead structural welding.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a safe work environment for tradespersons and operators;
  • Ensuring minimum downtime of all plant electrical and control systems, through prompt response to and resolution of equipment breakdowns
  • Ensuring maximum equipment reliability through completion of assigned Preventative and Corrective Maintenance activity
  • Assisting in maintaining spare parts and equipment to cover all critical areas and source prospective suppliers of new and existing equipment.
  • Communicating plant issues to maintenance and production supervisor
  • Identifying and developing potential plant and operational efficiency improvement to improve plant production and minimize downtime and waste
  • Maintaining, where required, control system documentation including schematics, manuals, parameter and layouts
  • Complying with all legislative and JBS safety requirements
  • Working cooperatively with all site personnel
  • Demonstrating rostering flexibility

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Victorian A grade electrical license
  • Strong fault finding skills
  • Solid understanding of GMP & HACCP concepts and procedures
  • The ability to function independently and without direct supervision
  • Experience in planned maintenance and upgrades in an FMCG environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, VSD, Power Distribution and Instrumentation
  • Sound knowledge of OH&S regulations.

As one of the electrical team reporting to the Electrical Team Leader, the Electrical team has responsibility for a wide range of electrical maintenance activities associated with the operations of a fast-paced 24X7 manufacturing facility. The Electrical team executes the short and long-term electrical maintenance and improvement activities on the plant to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and capability of the plant power distribution, control and automation system.

In addition to the maintenance, breakdown and repair activities, the role is required to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in the process, systems and equipment as well as nominated upgrades.

We have an opportunity for an industrial painter to join our Transport and Technology division based at North Melbourne. You will be working on a passenger train overhaul project which is expected to finish in October 2019, to be considered for the role you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Trade qualifications as a Painter
  • Industrial painting experience (heavy industry related)
  • HV/LP spraying experience.
  • Ability to prepare surfaces and colour match.
  • Experience of working with steel, aluminium and fibreglass.
